Pricing, store coupons and consumer purchase history are captured and moved easily within the loop to provide a timely information exchange. This process allows for daily or more frequent price changes, accurate and actual electronic coupon redemption, electronic promotions and actual purchase data that captures consumer buying trends and target marketing data.

Consumers may order their groceries using a consumer scanner, a catalog based Automated Call Center, through the Internet or by calling a Staffed Call Center and talking with a live operator. The Staffed Call Center may be located in the retailer’s offices or the consumer may call HometownGrocers.com’s Staffed Call Center. All orders are moved through the transaction loop to reside on HometownGrocers.com’s server farm. The orders are immediately available to consumers so they may change or cancel their order using any of the ordering methods. HometownGrocers.com in-store software is connected to the store’s point-of-sale system and the Internet to automate the moving of customers’ orders to the store and the store pricing, sale pricing, store coupons, and actual consumer purchase data to HometownGrocers.com. Inventory management data is sent to update the store’s point-of-sale system.
